This project focusing on very young in school adolescent girls ages 8 -14 with the aim of support the transformation from childhood to adolescent stage, inspire and encourage girls to understand their power within, take chance to leadership and set their goals through creating a platform for them to prepare their life goal, understand their responsibility, learn to make decisions, solve problems, learning about sexual reproductive health and rights and violence at early age. Also work with boys to promote gender equality, social norm change and community development.

 

PROJECT ACTIVITIES

  • Inspire and encourage girls to understand their power within, take chance to leadership and set their goals through creating a platform for them to prepare their life goal. Girls have read different books with inspiring stories. One book contained stories of African queens who managed to overcome their challenges and reach their goals.

 

  • Promoting boys engagement in order to prevent violence against women and girls. Boys in primary schools working with UG to organized a committee of preventing violence against women and girls and participated 16 days of activism through ending violence campaign. Also they have participated commemorating International Menstrual Hygiene by supporting the provision of sanitary pads to girls in their schools and encouraging males’ engagement ensuring women and girls have safe menstruation.
